10 Scriptures To Pray For Your Husband

One of the most important things you need to know about marriage before entering into it is what God's purpose for marriage actually is. But what about after you are married? What, as a wife, should we be doing for our husbands? Take a look at Proverbs 31:11-12.

Verse 11 talks says "the heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain." One important thing that comes to my mind with this verse is that we must always talk good of our husbands

It is so easy to fall into habit to "talk" with our mothers or girlfriends or sisters about our marriages, and specifically, our husbands. But that "talking" can often turn into complaining and negativity towards our husbands. Sure, there are times when we feel we need to vent, but we need to remember that we need to protect our husbands, need to not cause any harm to them. We need to always talk good of our husbands. We need to be their biggest fans!

Another thing that sticks out to me in the above verse is that "she does him good...all the days of her life." So, how can we do that?

I think one of the most important ways we can do that, as wives, is to always be in prayer for our husbands. Prayer is the biggest, most powerful tool we have! I challenge you to start praying specific scriptures for your husband and just watch what it does for your marriage! Below, I've gathered 10 of my favorite verses that I can pray for my husband.

1. That he would trust in God's plan for him.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." {Jeremiah 29:11}

2. That he would be strong and courageous.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." {Joshua 1:9}

3. That he would always lean on Christ in times of trial.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." {Psalm 46:1}

4. That he would always strive for peace.

"So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding." {Romans 14:19}

5. That he would always hope in God.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." {Hebrews 10:23}

6. That he would follow God's will.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." {Romans 12:2}

7. That he would trust God with his finances.

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." {Philippians 4:19}

8. That he would seek wisdom from God.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."

9. That he would be prepared for every opportunity.

"Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you out to answer each person." {Colossians 4:5-6}

10. That he would always be aware of the company he keeps.

"Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." {Proverbs 13:20}
