It's that time again....Wedding Flashback Series. This week, we'll look back at the Rehearsal Dinner. This one wasn't easy because I realized we really didn't take many pictures at the Rehearsal Dinner. So my advice to planning brides - get someone to take some good pictures at your Rehearsal Dinner, because you will be too busy!
We had our Rehearsal Dinner at a really amazing location, Seven Steps Up. I wish I had some pictures so you could see how amazing it was inside (and what an atmosphere it was the night of). Below is a picture of the outside of the building. It was built around 1919 and is a renovated Masonic Temple.

The inside is all exposed brick with wood floors.
Decorations included dried lavender that were wrapped in tissue paper and tied with a bow. These were placed on each window ledge.
The centerpieces included a flower-filled vase, a tea light in a glass candle holder, and adirondack chair picture frames atop a handmade stone pad. Each table had different pictures of my now-husband and I at different ages.
The stone pads were made by first cutting a piece of felt in the shape of a circle. A mesh layer was cut in the same shape and size and glued atop the felt. The stones were glued onto the mesh - it was kind of a cement-like glue, I'm not exactly sure what it was called. A clear glue had been attempted, but it just didn't hold as well.
Here's a close up of the stone pad and adirondack chair picture frames.
And that was it for the decorations. Pretty simple, but the place looked amazing - lights dimmed and all the candles lit, absolutely beautiful.
Finger foods included many different kinds of cheeses (if you are in the Muskegon/Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo area, check out The Cheese Lady!). The main course was Italian Sausage and Mostaccioli, some of our favorite foods!
Come back next week and see all the work that went into putting our Ceremony together!
