Amp up your recipes using Texas Pete Sauce

I love it when I can buy something that has multiple uses, and Texas Pete Hot Sauce is just that.  Not only is it a great condiment, perfect for spicing up and getting the full flavor out of hot dogs, fries, pizza, soups, and sandwiches – just to name a few, but it’s a great ingredient to have on hand.  Did you know you could use it to amp up anything from ribs to barbecue – or even use it to make red velvet cake icing??  Now that is what I would call a multi-purpose ingredient essential in your pantry!  And the great thing is that Texas Pete offers such a variety of products that can help improve the taste of every meal.

Doesn't that look amazing?!  It tastes as amazing as it looks!  Lucky for you, I get to share one of Texas Pete Hot Sauce recipes with you!  With the recipe included below, you can make 2 quarts of Texas Pete® Zippy Tie Dye Coleslaw.  This would be a great dish to make for a family barbecue!  And wouldn’t it be a surprise to everyone that the secret ingredient was a Texas Pete sauce – definitely a memorable dish you can pass on to others!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 head Red cabbage, shaved thin
6 Tbsp Brown sugar
3 Tbsp Red wine vinegar
1-2 Tbsp Texas Pete® Hotter Hot Sauce
1 Red bell pepper, finely julienne
1 Yellow bell pepper, finely julienne
1 Green bell pepper, finely julienne
1/2 cup Radishes, sliced thin
1/2 onion Red onion, julienne paper thin
2 carrots Carrots, fresh, grated on the large shredder
1 tsp Caraway seeds
1 tsp Celery seeds
2 Tbsp Parsley, fresh, minced
1/3 cup Mayonnaise
To taste Salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS

1. Place the thinly shaved red cabbage into a large mixing bowl. Add the brown sugar, red 
wine vinegar and the Texas Pete® Hotter Hot Sauce and mix well. 
2. Let this mixture marinate at room temperature for 10 minutes before adding all the 
remaining ingredients from the bell peppers to the mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper 
and mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
